Lynton hill Went for a walk, only a couple of hours but up hill and down again through sunshine and hail. We started from the campsite and climbed 468ft up the hill behind us and then back down again. At least we will have done more than 8000 steps today! Just one
Lynton I have no signal here so post will be limited for the next few days. But we have a great pitch. We had a walk into Lynton, took the fanicular to Lynmouth and back then walked to the valley of rocks.
Exmoor We drive through Exmoor National Park to Lynton via some very steep winding roads. But now parked next to a river and a pub what a lovely day and thank you lots to Emily for a lovely Mothers Day card.
Exeter City The bus into the city stops outside the pub, and the second one of the day leaves at a nice 10.40! Taking advice from the locals we visited the cathedral and quays. Such friendly people here. A couple went out of there way to show us the route to
Exeter Well we haven't explored the town yet. But are staying in the car park of a lovely pub in Nadderwater, north of Exeter. Lovely meal and cider. Stopped in Bridport and bought some lovely bits from charity shops.
Red Kite feeding Some photos from today's feeding session, about 300 birds visit daily in the summer and up to 600 in the winter. In the mid 1990's the were only 6 birds.
Rhaydar and rain It forcast to rain today and it did until just after lunch, so we stayed in the van. Went for a stroll along the river into town this afternoon and found this waterfall. Hopefully we'll see the Kites being fed tomorrow.
Llangullo Lovely stay in the carpark of the Greyhound pub last night. Great open mike sessions from some very talented people. Real ale, real fire, real people but no phone or WiFi signals.
Train to Porthmadog As it's on our doorstep we feel we must take a trip on the stream train. It runs along the valley below Snowdon into Porthmadoc. We manage to get seats in the open carriage so tried to take some photos of the scenery. And some of Snowdon

Llangollen Railway and Castell Dinas Bran Another visit to Llangollen town today for provisions and to photograph the railway. Sadly we missed the stream engine. Then after lunch and some DIY we went for a walk to climb Castell Dinas Bran and it's abandoned buildings. We see it on our walk to and from the campsite.
Horseshoe Falls Walked along the towpath to the start of the Llangollen canal at the Horseshoe Falls. Then to the Chainbridge Hotel and a walk across said wobbly bridge. Saw some of the horse drawn barges.
Pontcysyllte Aqueduct A 5 mile walk along the canal from Llangollen. The aqueduct across the river Dee. Canoeists made me think of Joan and DofE expeditions.
Llangollen It only took 20mins to walk down to town from the campsite, it is going to take longer to climb back up. Two views from our pitch. It only took us 20 mins to walk back up, and got a nice photo of a barge on the canal at night.
